Anu Malhotra is one of India’s top filmmakers, having won 18 National and 2 International awards, over the past 2 decades for her insightful documentaries, trend setting television programming and impactful communication projects.

Anu set up AIM Television in 1994 to create meaningful and uplifting television content for premiere Indian television channels and for reputed international channels.

pioneer of the travel show, fashion and lifestyle genre on Indian television, Anu designed unique formats – producing, directing and writing several acclaimed and popular television shows like Namaste India, Indian HolidayKhubsoorat, Jhatpat Khanna, Breakfast with Zee et. al.

With her vast experience, Anu created several captivating commercials and promotional videos for the Department of Tourism to market India’s tourism potential abroad. 

The first series of the Incredible India films were created by Anu – a slogan, that was coined by her!

Post 2000, Anu defined the landscape of socio-cultural documentaries with her path-breaking films, Tribal Wisdom, Coming Full Circle,  The Apatani of Arunachal Pradesh, The Konyak of Nagaland, The Maharaja of Jodhpur, and Shamans of the Himalayas – all seminal pieces of work, showcasing unique cultures and wisdom traditions of India.

Anu also consulted for the BBC World Service Trust as the Creative Head for its India Project, with the specific mission of raising awareness about HIV/AIDS in India. For this campaign, she designed and directed a hugely successful and impactful ‘Behaviour Change Communication Project.’ Haath Se Haath Milaa for which she won the UNAIDS Global Award (2007).

Anu showcased her first solo photography and multimedia exhibition, titled ‘Soul Survivors’ at the National Museum, New Delhi, in 2011.  This hugely successful and much appreciated exhibition was later showcased at Bikaner House, New Delhi, in 2018, where her first published book, titled Soul Survivors, was released.

Since 2010, Anu’s creative spirit has also found expression in Art.  Anu has established herself as a multi disciplinary artist of repute, exhibiting her vibrant paintings, photographs, sculptures and light installations at several solo shows, group shows, Art Fairs in India and abroad, since 2014. She is now being represented internationally by the Bruno Art Group and several other galleries in India. 

Presently, Anu continues to work on her various Art forms, including her new Collages. Anu’s second book, Shamans of the Himalayas, will be published in 2021
